
The angry students lamented that the VC slammed the levy on them under the guise of re-roofing the leaking Moot Court (lecture hall) where Law students receive lectures in the university, lamenting that three years down the line,the Moot Court building was still leaking.
They further cried out to relevant authorities over the clampdown on the Students Union Government, SUG, that spearheaded a protest last July, following acute power outage and water supply in the ivory tower for the past two years.
The students made the damning revelations when the Students Christian Movement, SCM, launched week long activities to commemorate the 75th anniversary of SCM founded by former Governor of eastern region,Chief Francis Akanu-Ibiam in 1940.
While addressing newsmen at the Faculty of Business Administration yesterday,Vice Chairman,Local Organizing Committee,LOC,SCM,75th anniversary,Mr. Godwin Ogenyi,said,”the anniversary will focus on using students in over 500 tertiary institutions to push the fight against corruption in primary and secondary schools nationwide.”
